WORRY:
We’re going through amazing times at present – times that none of us imagined we’d ever have to understand.
A stat that came from the Reserve bank of England said that during the GFC in 2008, the economy dropped by -.1%. So far during this Epic event we have dropped -.3%. Wow.
But as we go through this time let’s put it in perspective, and realise that a lot of what we worry about never happens.
40% of the things we worry about never happen
30% are in the past and can’t be helped
12% involve the affairs of others that are not our business
10% relate to sickness, real or imagined
Thus only 8% of the things we worry about are likely to happen
American author Mark Twain quipped, ‘I’ve been through some horrible things in my life – a few of which actually happened!’
Worry is just interest paid on trouble before it comes due.
For example. If you have a Fear of flying, you would have to fly every day for 19,000 years before the probability of being in a plane crash approaches 100%.
So, keep safe and use common Sense as we continue through this time. Much of what we think may happen – won’t.
